So, if they like them there’s a good chance that you’ll also like them.

Look for someone who’s tactical.

A strategy is important, Concepts is important but if someone doesn’t know how to implement, doesn’t matter how smart they are. They’re never going to be able to get you the results. They need to know how to implement the changes to your website. Look for someone who is tactical or else it will take forever for you to see any traction.
